* Application fee need to be enclosed within the envelope with your documents and must be paid in money order.

Individual interview time will be arranged during period.

*Letter of acceptance and tuition invoice will be mailed.

Payment : Please transfer money to the provided account or visit Kyungnam Bank for payment within the given period.

3. Admissions Requirements

1] M. A. Program

1) Persons with a Bachelor’s degree from an authorized institution both in Korea and over abroad, or is a prospective B.A candidate.

2) Persons acknowledged to have an equivalent of a B.A. or a higher degree of education by law.

* Persons applying for a major other than the one stated on their B.A. may also apply.

2] Ph. D. Program

1) Persons with a Master’s degree from an authorized institution both in Korea and over abroad, or is a prospective candidate.

2) Persons acknowledged to have an equivalent of a M.A. or a higher degree of education by law.

* Persons applying for a major other than the one stated on their M.A. may also apply.

*For Chinese applicants who require a student visa need to submit the following additional documents: a degree certificate, two color ID photos (3.5cmX4.5cm), copies of family registration documents (of applicant and of applicant's parents), copies of residential certificate(of applicant and of applicant's parents)


5. Admission

Documents Evaluation

comprehensive examinations on submitted documents such as academic plan and academic transcripts. Score: 100

Oral Evaluation

comprehensive examinations of knowledge on major, aptitude, enthusiasm, sincerity and purpose of study.


6. Application Fee

M. A. Program: 50,000 KRW

Ph. D. Program: 70,000 KRW

*Credit cards will not be accepted.

*Nonrefundable.


7. Notifications for applicants

1) Acceptance will be canceled if a student is found to have provided false information, forgery, or any other illegal procedures during the admissions process.

2) The application form cannot be canceled or revised upon submission and therefore will not be returned.

3) Applicants who have graduated or are a prospective candidate for graduation from a foreign institution must submit all documents in originals and must include the institution’s official address. (Mandatory for inspection of academic background)

4) Application fee in the form of postal money order must be enclosed within the envelope when submitting the application via mail. Please note that all documents should be received by the deadline and late submissions will not be accepted.

5) Matters related to enrollment not mentioned in this outline will be handled by the Admissions Office of the University of North Korea Studies.
